What is a TOG?

TOG stands for Thermal Overall Grade and is a unit of measurement for insulation and warmth of sleepwear and bedding. The lower the TOG rating, the lighter the fabric; the higher the rating, the more padded and insulated it is.

Description
Our Jersey Sleeping Bag is designed for arms-out sleepers, typically from around 3 months of age. With a slim-fit, stretchy design similar to a swaddle, it is recommended as a baby's 'first sleeping bag' after the swaddling phase. Made from soft, stretchy GOTS-certified organic cotton, this safe-sleep approved design is non-toxic and gentle on a baby's skin. The ergonomically designed bag features a bell-shaped bottom to promote healthy hip joint development and is approved by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. The stretchy material allows the baby to move more freely and stay comfortable while they sleep.

The 3.5 TOG Jersey Sleeping Bag is ideal for keeping a child warm overnight in rooms with temperatures of 14–19°C / 57–66°F. The sleeves are rated 1.0 TOG and provide extra warmth on cooler nights. The TOG rating eliminates the need for additional blankets in the cot, making it a safe-sleep option. Parents can rest assured that the breathable organic, natural fibres will help regulate their child’s temperature and prevent overheating. A FREE room thermometer and What to Wear guide are provided with the product to help parents layer appropriately underneath to keep their child warm. We recommend pairing this pouch with one of our TOG-rated Layers or Bodywear underneath (sold separately).

The Jersey Sleeping Bag meets all safety standards in Australia and New Zealand and is reviewed by the Eczema Association of Australasia as a skin-friendly product. All ergoPouch fabrics are dyed with non-toxic water-based dyes and come in trend-driven prints and colours to suit any nursery. All our prints are designed in-house.

How To Use
1. Lay the Jersey Bag on a flat, low surface with the zip open.
2. Lay the child on top of the Jersey Bag, put arms into the sleeves, and tuck legs into the pouch. Zip up.
3. To change a nappy or cool down the child, zip open from the bottom of the pouch to release legs and lower torso. Zip closed again when finished.
4. Layer underneath for warmth as needed.
