TOG 2.5 can be used on its own in room temperatures between 17-23°C / 63-73°F with no blankets in the bassinet or cot to make this a safe sleep option for a newborn or baby.
The chest area is 1.0TOG rated to prevent overheating and allow for full chest expansion when breathing.
The Cocoon Swaddle Bag is made from GOTS-certified organic cotton with elastane in the outer fabric and bamboo in the lining, providing firmness to restrict the startle reflex while allowing stretch and movement for healthy growth. It is also breathable and stretchy, making it a comfortable option for babies to move their hands into a self-settling position inside the swaddle.
The Cocoon Swaddle Bag is certified non-toxic, dyed with water-based dyes, and gentle on newborn skin, making it a skin-friendly product. It meets all safety standards in Australia and New Zealand and is reviewed by the Eczema Association of Australasia.
To use the Cocoon Swaddle Bag, lay it on a flat, low surface with the zip open and arm studs closed. Tuck baby's legs into the swaddle, zip up with baby's hands in the desired position, and layer underneath for warmth as needed. To transition to arms-out sleeping, release arms by opening the studs on the shoulders. Always sleep your baby in a safe-sleep environment.
The Cocoon Swaddle Bag is available in different sizes, and it is essential to buy the correct size for your baby's weight to prevent the swaddle from riding up around your baby's face. Note that it is not suitable for use in a 5-point harness. The product is machine washable in mild detergent and tumble dry low, and moderately hot iron.

How To Use
- Lay Cocoon on flat, low surface with zip open and arm studs closed.
- Lay baby on top of Cocoon. Tuck legs into swaddle, and zip up with baby's hands in desired position (by sides, or across chest).
- To change a nappy or cool down baby, zip open from the bottom of the swaddle to release legs and lower torso. Zip closed again when finished.
- Layer underneath for warmth as needed.
- To transition to arms-out sleeping once showing signs of rolling, release arms by opening the studs on the shoulders. We suggest doing this one arm at a time over several days.
