How to Clean Silverette Nipple Cups?
Keeping your Silverette Nursing Cups clean is simple and easy. Before you put on the cups after feeding, just rinse the cups with warm water and pat dry. If you want a deeper clean, you can sterilise the cups using steam or UV sterilisers. Just make sure cups have cooled down after sterilisation before use.
Due to the natural oxidisation process, your Silverette® cups might develop a brass-yellow colour. This is a normal reaction of the alloy being exposed to the moisture and oxygen in the air. The cups are still effective and most importantly safe to use for mum and baby. The tarnish is actually a sign of genuine sterling silver.
To remove the tarnish, make a paste using one teaspoon of soda bicarbonate (baking soda) with a few drops of water. Rub the paste over the cups to clean, then rinse under water and pat dry. Do not use any harsh detergents, bleach-based agents, sterilising tablets or hard scourers to clean the cups.
